Baking Soda + Coconut Oil Scrub

Baking soda is one of those simple inexpensive multitasking items in your kitchen where you don’t expect it to do as many things as it does. It can help you look and feel your best from head to toe, from teeth whitening to treating body odor. However, I’m going to focus on using this in a Baking Soda + Coconut Oil Scrub.

Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, a natural substance that is crystalline but often appears as a fine powder. This alkaline substance has antibacterial, anti-fungal, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.

What’s best about baking soda as your scrub?

Fights Acne + Pimples – The antibacterial and antiseptic properties reduces the symptoms of acne and other breakouts.

Improves Skin Complexion – by removing dead skin cells, in addition balances the pH level of your skin which is important to maintain clear and even skin.

Now that you have your paste, apply it to your face and spread around. Leave on for 1-2 minutes and then use the tips of your fingers in a circular motion to exfoliate. Do this for another good minute, rinse off with warm water and cleanse your face with a mild face wash. It’s always best to air dry, especially if you breakout often to avoid adding bacteria from a cloth. Tone and moisturize. You should immediately see and feel a difference on your skin. This Baking Soda + Coconut Oil Scrub should be done no more than once or twice a week to avoid an overuse of baking soda.
