A turmeric face mask that will get you glowing! Not only is turmeric useful as a spice for curry dishes, or only beneficial for internal uses by drinking a Turmeric Almond Milk, it’s also an excellent component as a beauty product. Traditionally, turmeric has been used in Eastern cultures to brighten and even out the skin tone while giving a natural glow. During my research, most recipes found online includes flour or oatmeal in this mask, but due to the clumpy texture, I opted to not include the clumpy and keep it smooth and creamy with a yogurt base.
The benefits of applying turmeric as a facial mask are the healing properties which are high in antioxidants that slow down cell damage, anti-inflammatory, reduces swelling under the eyes, and reduces pigmentation to even out skin tone. For me, breaking out with acne is no joke so the turmeric mask is a good go-to for me to reduce a pimple and to minimize dark acne marks.
Using a whole-milk yogurt is important because it contains lactic acid that dissolves dead skin cells and helps diminish fine lines and wrinkles. If you want to avoid dairy altogether, then substitute the dairy with a mixture of flour and water to the texture you desire.
