Make A Simple Sugar Lip Scrub

This simple sugar lip scrub is my savior. Whenever my lips become flaky or the skin starts to peel I whip up this DIY sugar lip scrub. Nothing is worse than crusty lips. I used to have a difficult time finding lip scrubs in the beauty section of department stores and when I did, the cost wasn’t worthy. Now I create my own with the simple ingredients already at home. Sugar + Honey. Dassssit! One part of each, mix it together, and scrub gently in a circular motion on your lips, rinse, and moisturize with lip balm. It works excellent and my lips are smooth.

However, there is a more advanced DIY sugar lip scrub adding cinnamon, coconut oil, and vanilla extract.  Exfoliate only when needed.

Benefits of Sugar Lip Scrub

  • Sugar = Exfoliates
  • Honey = Moisturizes/Antibacterial
  • Coconut Oil = Moisturizes
  • Cinnamon = Plumps
  • Vanilla extract = Fragrance

Write a review
  1. 1 tbsp Brown Sugar (or white)
  2. 1 tbsp Raw Honey
  3. 1 tsp Coconut Oil
  4. 1 tsp Cinnamon (optional)
  5. 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (optional)
  1. Mix all the ingredients into a small bowl and combine thoroughly.
  2. Apply to lips with finger and scrub gently in a circular motion.
  3. Rinse lips with luke warm or cool water.
  4. Apply a lip balm (preferably vaseline) to lips to seal in moisture.
  1. The lip scrub texture is supposed to be thick and clumpy, so if you need to adjust the ingredients by adding more sugar, feel free to do so.

Store in Container

This recipe makes plenty for continued usage. Use a small container with a lid to store the sugar lip scrub. The smaller the better. These containers can be found on Amazon, but I reuse the ingredient containers from my Green Chef deliveries. They are the perfect size for multiple usage. You can store the container at room temperature.
